Me and the pigeons
In Venice we went exploring walking down twisting turns and not always knowing where we were going. We. Went to the basilica where people prayed. On the way into Venice we saw a big canoe and we saw a lot of pigeons. Lucky we had nutella sandwichs because they flew on me.

The Quarter History of Venice
Venice is not what you think. It isn't built on water, it is built on islands of mud. But of course the people didn't make them. Before Venice was built there were 116 islands and the first people who got there were fleeing Huns who were invading Rome. The people built on the islands using wooden pylons.
Venice got very rich by using ships to trade things that others wanted and they had. They were good at making and sailing ships which is what you would think, because it is a city almost built on water. Then they started losing money because Portugal had stuff that they had sailed to different countries for.
Venice is today is now a place for tourists coming and going. Its like a playground for tourists and only 60000 people live here which surprises me, because I thought Venice would be bigger than Christchurch.

Ireland
I thought Ireland was cool . It had lots of green grass, hills and it rained often. In the towns all the houses were stacked together.
The favourite thing I did in Ireland was going to the zoo. I liked seeing the tiger up close it was so close it licked the window.
We went to Dublin, Athlone and Galway.
I learnt that the Irish have two languages. Irish and English

A day out at Portsmouth
At the place called Portsmouth they had lots of old ships. We went on a tour of the port. We saw navy boats and my favourite navy boat was a Cargo ship on the tour, but my favourite boat of them all was the HMS Victory. The captain was Admiral Nelson. He was shot in the spine and he didn't want to be buried at sea so they pickled him in alcohol and once they got home in memorial they drank the alcohol that his body had been soaking in. The HMS Victory fought in the Napoleonic Wars.
